Album release: ‘Carp Dime’ EP by Johnny West Is Missing
Release date: 17 March 2017
More info: Band website

Johnny West Is Missing are based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, with members hailing from Manchester, Barnsley and Florida. They bring together the sound of British working class petulance and Sunshine State solace to create a melodic but heavy pop punk sound for fans of A Day To Remember and New Found Glory.

The band released their EP ‘Carp Dime’ in March. Listen to it here.

‘Carp Dime’ is all about angst, anger and despising upper class narcissists, as opening track ‘Just Because The Fucker’s Got A Library Card Doesn’t Make Him Yoda’ delivers a lyrical sucker punch “But looking back I’m 1000 times stronger, for every single hit that I’ve taken”. It’s not all about hate though, with track 4 ‘Game Over In Hudsonia’ being a gnarly punk rock retelling of catastrophic 1986 blockbuster ‘Aliens’.

Since their formation in 2016, the band have been hard at work refining their sound and playing show after show, building up a solid reputation as a credible live band.

Johnny West Is Missing have plenty more gigs planned for the rest of 2017, as well as a single and video on the way. A split EP with label-mates Clayface will be released later in the year.
